Mr. Over/Under:

Seattle -4.5 over Arizona

Three things can ruin a wager in football…Weather, injuries and turnovers. Last week I expected the Chicago/Washington game to go under and it would have except for 5 turnovers. FIVE TURNOVERS! No one can predict that. Hold on to the ball guys! I feel some of the NFL spreads this week are lower than they should be. Last week Arizona lost at home to Carolina by 18. The spread was Arizona +2. This week Arizona is getting 4.5 points at home against a Seattle team that’s better than Carolina. I look for Seattle’s offense to be very aggressive and cover the 4.5 points.

Man in Stripes

Duke +3 over Virginia Tech
I love David Cutcliffe as a road dog. Duke played tough against Alabama at the start of the year. They then beat Middle Tennessee St. QB Quentan Harris is on fire throwing 8 TD’s in the last 2 games. He ran for over 100 in the last game too. Both teams are coming off the bye. Hokies have been shaky at best trailing by 11 to FCS for Furman in their last game. This is not a good Va Tech team. Duke can score and win this outright.

Mono

Temple -8.5 over Georgia Tech
Georgia Tech first year coach was the Temple coach last year. Geoff Collins lost last game to The Citadel. They had bye last week. GT is in transition from the triple option and it will take time. They haven’t had a QB throw for 100 yards yet. Temple lost last week to UB and had four turnovers in the game. At home they clean up the mistakes and get revenge on their former coach.

Brutal

Arizona -6.5 over UCLA
UCLA has to be dead tired after last weeks 67-63 game against Washington State. I watched the entire game and both teams were dead tired by the finish. UCLA now travels on the road again to play an Arizona team that played well in beating Texas Tech at home. Wildcats are better on both sides of the ball.

Bob Gaughan

Minnesota Vikings +3 over Chicago
Bears are coming off an impressive performance on Monday night vs the Redskins. But it was the Redskins. I feel Mitchell Trubisky plays very well vs bad teams but plays poorly against good defenses. The Vikings have a very good defense. Minnesota has the better offense with Dalvin Cook and Thielen and Diggs. I like getting a field goal with who I think is the better overall team.
