Weekly Record 7-4-2, Overall Record 45-31-2

Man in Stripes: Buffalo -3.5 over Jets

For the first time all year the Bills are favored and I love them!!!! Doesn’t matter who plays QB for the Jets, Joe Namath, Richard Todd, Sam Darnold. It won’t matter. Todd Bowles is dead man walking.  The Bills are on their historic run to 7-9. Josh Allen might run for 200 yards.  Bills won by 30 in New York, look for a similar result.

Mono:  Navy/Army Under 40

The under has hit 12 straight in this series.  There’s a good reason for it.  Both teams love to run the option.  With all the running plays the clock rarely stops.  Since they both run the option both teams are pretty good at stopping it. Each team possesses the ball for a long time. Very limited possessions.

Slick: Minnesota +3 over Seattle

I think this is the perfect time to face Seattle. I’m still not sure the Seahawks are for real. Top to bottom I believe the Vikings are the better team in essentially a playoff game.  Usually a team gets 3 points just for being at home so on a neutral field the game would be even according to the oddsmakers.  I’ll take the Vikings all day here. They get it done on the road on Monday night.

Mr. Brutal: Army -6.5 over Navy

This is Navy’s worst team in years only going 3-9.  They only beat Tulsa since September.  Neither team broke 900 yards passing on the year.  Oklahoma does that every Saturday. Army should beat Navy for 3 years in a row.  This is a low spread considering the records of teams.  The spread could be low because Navy dominated the series from 2002-2015, when they won 14 in a row. Army’s only losses were to Duke and Oklahoma in OT.  Army hasn’t been this much better than Navy since the days of Blanchard and Davis.

Bob Gaughan: New England -7.5 over Miami

Don’t bet against the Patriots in December. Since 2001 The Pats are 63-11 in games played in December. Against the spread the Pats are still impressive going 44-29-1.  Here the Pats play Miami who they lost outright last year 27-20.  So don’t expect the Pats to take the Fins lightly. Miami should have lost last week to Buffalo.  The Bills had a 415-175 edge in yards.

So I think Miami isn’t nearly as good as there record might indicate.  Miami drops out of the hunt for the playoffs after New England whips them this week.
