Sunday presents several favorable matchups and many directions to go. Continue reading for a few of my favorites.

Hitters to Target

  • Josh Donaldson 3B Toronto Blue Jays – A return to where it all started, Josh began his career with the Chicago Cubs. He has been on a serious roll of late, 11 home runs in his last 19 games and a .940 OPS this season. He is facing the soft throwing Kyle Hendricks and hopefully the wind is blowing out in Wrigley.
  • C.J. Cron 1B Los Angeles Angels – Another hot player as of late, he has 3 home runs in his last 5 games and his batting average is up to .260. He is facing Wade Miley in Baltimore. Wade has a 5.21 ERA this season and in his last outing only threw 53 of his 95 pitches for strikes.
  • Keon Broxton OF Milwaukee Brewers – Broxton just hit his 20th home run and has six in his last nine games and is batting .292 in 48 at-bats since being recalled from the minors. The Brewers play in Coors Field on Sunday.

Pitchers to Target

Danny Salazar at Kansas City – In his last 5 starts he has a 1.29 ERA and a 46:9 K:BB ratio and batters are averaging .161.

Madison Bumgarner home against Philadelphia – He has a 2.98 ERA in 7 starts since returning from the disabled list. Pitching at home in a pitcher’s park

Gio Gonzalez at San Diego – Gio has allowed only 3 earned runs in his last 28 innings and took a no hitter into the sixth inning in his last start. He has quality starts in 9 of his last 10 starts.

Stacks to Target

Arizona Diamondbacks – Facing Bartolo Colon, Bartolo gave up 3 home runs in his last start along with 4 walks. He is 4-10 with a 6.70 for the season.

Cincinnati Reds – The team has hit 34 home runs and driven in 100 runs during the month of August and is facing Sean Newcomb.
