Fantasy Football Preview:  Week 14

by J.K. Karlson, Buffalo Sports Page Fantasy Football Expert

Congrats to all of those who made the fantasy playoffs! You live to fight another week (hopefully a few).
If you are reading this in Week 14 you likely HAVE made the playoffs, OR you really like me. Either way, you’re making great decisions – keep up the good work.

What shall we focus on this week? Not blowing it. That seems obvious – but there are some smart moves you can make to be better than just “lucky” this week. And hope you aren’t playing someone who IS lucky this week – we know Bob from Accounting barely squeaked in and has no idea what he’s doing but somehow played Miami’s Defense last week and benefited from the 28 fantasy points. DON’T overthink it. This is a classic playoff mistake that will haunt you well past the holidays. It’s easy to second guess yourself but resist that urge. Go with your gut – it’s gotten you this far. Pay attention to hot streaks – just like some teams get hot before the playoffs, so do individual players, while others fizzle out. Put in Rex Burkhead. And finally – call me. Okay not really, but I’m here for you on Twitter so trust your good friend @jk_karlson

Carson Wentz (Philadelphia)
Phillip Rivers (Los Angeles Chargers)
Alex Smith (Kansas City)
Tom Brady (New England)
Drew Breese (New Orleans)
Russell Wilson (Seattle)
Matt Ryan (Atlanta)
Jared Goff (Los Angeles Rams)
Cam Newton (Carolina)
Josh McCown (New York Jets)

Notes: Matthew Stafford’s injured hand keeps him out of the Top 10 for this week in my opinion (he’s played poorly with a hand injury before). Keep an eye out for his progress.

Alvin Kamara (New Orleans)
Le’Veon Bell (Pittsburgh)
Todd Gurley (Los Angeles Rams)
Melvin Gordon (Los Angeles Chargers)
Leonard Fournette (Seattle)
Lamar Miller (Houston)
Devonta Freeman (Atlanta)
LeSean McCoy (Buffalo)
Samaje Perine (Washington)
Rex Burkhead (New England)

Notes: Mark Ingram was left off this list due to his recent toe injury, be alert of his status. His teammate Kamara may have his best game yet if Ingram is limited.

Antonio Brown (Pittsburgh)
Brandin Cooks (New England)
Keenan Allen (Los Angeles Chargers)
Tyreek Hill (Kansas City)
A.J. Green (Cincinnati)
Julio Jones (Atlanta)
DeAndre Hopkins (Houston)
Adam Thielen (Minnesota)

Mike Evans (Tampa Bay)

Travis Kelce (Kansas City)

Jack Doyle (Indianapolis)
Hunter Henry (Los Angeles Chargers)
Jason Witten (Dallas)
Kyle Rudolph (Minnesota)
Jared Cook (Oakland)
Cameron Brate (Tampa Bay)

Notes: Zach Ertz – check if he’s cleared concussion protocol. PLAY HIM if so.
