I Hate My Team

by Kevin Sylvester

We held the Buffalo Sports Page fantasy football draft last night and I have a hangover this morning. No, I didn’t drink too much. As a matter of fact, I didn’t drink at all. I should have, but I  have held this long standing policy of not drafting and drinking (insert your own joke here Jeff Wozer). The combination seemed to lead towards bad picks. I’m rethinking that now.

Our League

JK Karlson is our league commissioner, and set up our draft on another website that is set up for leagues. It was funny, because we had to wait for our funnyman (second reference Wozer) to register for the draft the start. He finally did, and then we had 5 minutes before our draft was to begin (we all knew the draft was 8pm anyway).

Our league is made up of JK, Wozer, Peck, Mrozik, Sylvester (that’s me), Mendola, and premium members Chris, Ron, Mike, and Joe. You had your chance to get in! Nick Mendola had the first pick and took David Johnson from the Arizona Cardinals. I knew I was screwed sitting at the 8th spot. I’ll list my team in a few moments. I also think Nick has the best team name, Glory Zays, an obvious ploy to earn favor with Zay Jones. Paul Peck put some thought into his team name, The Pecktorals. Not Bad.

Hate Fantasy

That is the name of my team. I know, it’s weak, but it fits (read more here). I also hate the team I picked. Everyone hates their team after the draft, or at least I think they do. I won’t bore you with why I chose each guy when I chose them, but have a look at my team and the round I drafted each player in. I can’t wait to read your comments.

QB Aaron Rogers 1st round (8th overall), Matthew Stafford (9th round)

RB LeSean McCoy 2nd rd (really hesitated on this), Jay Ajayi 3rd round, Frank Gore 8th round Jame White 14th rd (133rd overall)

WR Larry Fitzgerald 5th round, Michael Crabtree 6th round, Chris Hogan 7th rd, DeSean Jackson 10th rd, Mike Wallace 12th rd, Rishard Matthews 15th rd

TE Jordan Reed 4th round, CJ Fiedorowicz 16th and final round

Matt Bryant 13th round

D/ST Carolina Panthers 11th round
