Mr. Over/Under: Titans -3 over Houston
As you can probably figure out, I like to play the over/unders. So let me share some insight to this years statistics. Only 2 teams have gone under the projected totals 10 of this year’s 13 games, and they’re playing each other this Sunday. The Buffalo Bills and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Only 2 teams have gone under 9 of the 13 games. The Rams and the Patriots. I find this so ironic since, if you recall, the O/U for the Rams/Patriots SuperBowl was 56.
Now for this week. I’ve been in the plus column the past 6 weeks betting on Tennessee and I’m not stopping until they let me down. The Titans have gone over the total 7 consecutive weeks and are 6-1 with the point spread.
The O/U may be a little high this week, but they’re only giving 3 points to Houston, at home, with a chance to make the playoffs. I like the Titans –3.
Man in Stripes: Pittsburgh -2 over Buffalo
Last week I just missed on the Bills, this week we go the other way in a huge AFC matchup on Sunday Night Football at the Ketchup Bottle in the Burg.
The numbers just don’t add up for the Bills this week.. Steelers have won 7 of their last 8, 5-1 ATS last 6, Mike Tomlin, a leading candidate for Coach of the Year, is money on SNF.. 17-8.. He has done an amazing job keeping the Steelers afloat with all their injuries.. Working with their 3rd QB, Devlin ” Duck” Hodges, they get both James Connor, and Ju Ju Smith Schuster back this week.. That will help their offense for sure.. The defense has only given up 16 pts a game, in their last 8, they lead the NFL sacks, and turnovers , something that hasn’t been done in 45 years..
Just not enough offense coming from the Bills, Josh Allen and Co., will struggle again this week, on the road, look for Minkah Fitzpatrick to blanket John Brown, and I don’t see where the Bills will get their points from..Heinz is a place of horrors for opposing kickers, in a close game, no confidence in Stephen Hauschka.. The Steelers are more desperate team , being on the cut line of the playoffs, and they win and cover against a team they have NOT lost to in 20 years.. I hope Im wrong.. , but I don’t see, I think the environment will just be too much for Allen and Co.
Mono: Broncos +9.5 over Kansas City
Denver has played really well since the switch to Drew Lock as QB. Denver has won two straight and last week destroyed Houston on the road. The Broncos were up 31-3 at halftime and 38-3 in the third quarter. Kansas City knocked off New England last week but I wasn’t impressed with the Chiefs offense. Kansas City has already wrapped up the division. These two teams play close games. Four of the last five have been decided by 10 points or less. I expect Drew Lock to create some magic and keep it close.
Brutal: Navy -10 over Army
I usually pick Army in this game but this Army team isn’t the same team that we are use to seeing. Army had a couple of injuries in Hawaii so still think they are banged up. Navy has had the tougher schedule. Navy’s only two losses were to Notre Dame and Memphis. Navy gets revenge after losing three in a row in this series. Navy had won 14 in a row before this current losing streak.
Bob Gaughan: Seattle -6 over Carolina
Word out of Carolina this week is the players were not thrilled about the firing of popular coach Ron Rivera. They performed a listless effort against Atlanta last week. This week a Seattle team comes to town needing a win to stay in reach of San Francisco. Some hate to play a west coast team playing 1pm eastern games. Seattle is the exception to the rule. Since 2015 the Seahawks are 9-3-1 against the spread at 1pm eastern time zone games.
