Mr. Over/Under:

Dallas -5 over Washington

I’m in Vegas this week checking out numerous sports books. As of Friday, the Bills remain at -2, which I think is a good bet, since in the past, odd makers have had a tendency to over react to week 1 scores. Is Miami terrible? YES! Is Baltimore great? NO! Is Pittsburgh terrible? NO! Is Dallas great? Maybe, which is why I like the Cowboys this week. They have a good defense and a very good offensive line. They’re playing a divisional game in Washington, against a team that will be lucky to win 6 games this year. The Cowboys opened at -5 and have already moved to – 51/2. I expect the line to go to at least -6 or -7, so grab it while you can.

Man in Stripes

Virginia -7 over Florida State
So far the Noles have slept through the year. Blowing the big lead vs Boise, then lucking out in the home game against LA-Monroe. Why didn’t Monroe go for 2? Their defense has given up over 1,000 yards in the 2 games. Now they travel to Charlottesville playing a great defensive/special teams team. Noles don’t seem like your grandfathers Florida State team. This could get away from FSU in a hostile environment.

Mono

Oklahoma State -14.5 over Tulsa
Boone Pickens a life long Oklahoma State booster passed away this week. RIP. He was well known around the program. Oklahoma State stadium is named after him. It will be an emotional day and Oklahoma State will want to win big for him. Tulsa hung around with Michigan State but MSU doesn’t have the offensive fire power of the Cowboys. Oklahoma State runs up the score for T. Boone. I’m expecting Oklahoma State to put over 50 on Tulsa.

Brutal

Iowa State +2.5 over Iowa
I love Brock Purdy the ISU QB. Getting points at home is a good thing. Iowa is 2-0 and ranked 19 in the country. Iowa has beaten Miami-Ohio and Rutgers. Iowa State beat Northern Iowa. Northern Iowa is better than Miami-Ohio and Rutgers. ISU dropped in the polls because of the close win over Northern Iowa. This is an over reaction to this close win. Iowa State is coming off the bye. So ISU had a week to get things straighten out. This is a great rivalry game. The governor had to get involved to get the two teams to play.

Army -17 over UTSA
People think this might be a letdown for Army. History shows that won’t be the case. Last year after losing to Oklahoma in overtime, the Cadets came into Buffalo and won. Army should have won last week in Michigan. This week they get a much easier opponent in UTSA. I saw the Baylor-UTSA game last week. UTSA trailed 49-0 in the third quarter to Baylor. Baylor could of named the score. This is the first meeting between the two schools. You need to play Army a few times to get use to the option. That’s a big factor for me. Not good to get Army in a bad mood.
