Last Week 3-2 Yearly Record 25-17-1
Last Year Weekly Record 12-6-3, Overall Record 72-50-3

Mr. Over/Under: Kansas City -5.5 over Tennessee

In case you missed it, excluding the game in London, every home team won their game last week. This week 8 of the 13 home teams are favored, so let’s look at a visitor.
Twice this year Kansas City has been favored by 3.5 points. The season’s opener against Jacksonville, which they won 40-26 and week 7 against Denver when they won 30-6. This line was –3.5 Thursday morning and went to –5.5 Thursday afternoon, as it appears Mahomes will probably start. Temps are supposed to be in the 60’s, so weather shouldn’t be a problem. I just think the Chiefs have more talent and are a much better team.

Man in Stripes: Baylor -1.5 over TCU

This is the story of teams going in two different directions. Baylor if they win out can go to the playoff. TCU quarterback is a mess at QB, two guys are hurt and one is leaving the program. Baylor is coming off a horrible performance last week against West Virginia. Baylor’s has one of the best coaches in the country in Matt Ruhle. They bounce back with a couple extra days rests. TCU is a mess with some major problems.

Mono: LSU +6.5 over Alabama

I love LSU going into this game. Saban says Tua will be good to go but it will take time to get used to the competition on the other side of the field. He needs to trust his ankle as well. On the others side, Joe Burrow gets the shot of a lifetime to show the world he’s for real. I believe this game will be decided by a field goal or two. I can’t see Alabama winning by a touchdown.

Brutal: Minnesota +7 over Penn State

Everyone is discounting the Gophers record because of a couple of close wins early in the season. Minnesota can run the ball. This is the biggest game since Lou Holtz was the coach of the Gophers. Gophers are good in all three phases of the game. This is a typical bump in the road game for Penn State. Seven points at home too much.

Bob Gaughan: Iowa State +15 over Oklahoma

I’ve been on Iowa State all year and have been disappointed in how they have lost close games. It’s been a disappointing year in some respects for the Cyclones but they are a good team. This is too many points. This should be a close contest. Both teams are coming off the bye and close losses. I’m still a fan of Brock Purdy the Cyclones QB and believe that he can put up points against this Sooners defense. Not sure the Cyclones can pull the upset but they should be able to cover this large spread.
