Mr. Over/Under: Jacksonville +8.5 over Tennessee

So what did we learn from week 1? Baltimore & K.C. are still very good. Ben Roethlisberger is a difference maker for Pittsburgh. Field goal kickers don’t enjoy Week One.
And once again Josh Allen leads the league in fumbles and finds it difficult to hit open receivers in the end zone, while the local media tells you how good he was. Really?
Last week Jacksonville beat a pretty good Indy team, while Tennessee, on Monday night, struggled (missed field goals) against Denver. This is a division game, with Jacksonville getting 8 1/2 points. If they can beat Indy by 7, they should be able to keep it close enough against Tennessee to cover.

Man in Stripes: Carolina-Tampa Bay over 47.5

What we have are two of the worst or mediocre defenses in the league. Both teams have a ton of play makers. Good weather, fast track means lots of points. Panthers lost 34-30 in a game that more points could have been scored. Teddy Bridgewater had 4 TD passes and looked totally comfortable in the offense. The Panthers defense is inexperienced with lots of off-season moves. Tampa was an over machine last year. No reason to stop this year with TB12. Tampa Bay defense struggled last week and see more of that this week. The number should be in the low 50’s. I’ll take it a 47.5.

Mono: Rams +1 over Eagles

The Eagles are coming off an ugly loss against a football team without a nickname. The Eagles will be looking to bounce back in this one but I think this is a tough spot against the Rams. The Rams defense against the Cowboys was sensational. Especially the Rams defensive line. The Eagles offensive line was horrendous against Washington. Eagles won’t be able to block Aaron Donald.

Brutal: Arizona -6.5 over Washington

Kyler Murray is a stud. The Cardinals beat a good 49ers team last week and it wasn’t a fluke. I was just as impressed with the Cardinals defense as I was with their offense. What can you say about the addition of Hopkins as a star wide-out. He had 14 catches against a solid Niners defense. The line is down because of the Washington upset of the Eagles. The Eagles might not be the same team as they were last year.

Bob Gaughan: San Francisco -7 over Jets

There is no way in my mind that the Niners lose this game. The Niners have one of the better rosters in the NFL. Bills fans can tell you that the Jets should have lost last week 40-14. The fact the Bills only won by 10 is a misleading final. There is value there. The Jets are even more banged up this week without Bell their main weapon on offense. You get a huge coaching edge here as well. No crowd means this is a neutral site game. Take the much better team as long as it stays at a touchdown.
