Weekly Record 3-1-1, Overall Record 19-10-1

MR. Over/Under:  Carolina +1 over Washington

Two NFL games this week have an O/U of at least 57. The New England/Kansas City game could reach 60. YIKES! Unfortunately as of this writing, the Bills/Houston game is off the board, and I think that will be a low scoring game.

So do I go high, or do I go low. Neither! I go to Washington, DC, where the Redskins are favored by 1. Carolina has scored 24, 31, and 33 in their last three games. If that trend continues, I don’t think Washington can keep up.

Take Carolina

Man in Stripes: UCF -4 over Memphis

Number 9 UCF heading into the game with a nation’s best 18 game winning streak. They average winning by 31 points per game behind great QB McKenzie Milton.  The explosive offense averages 48 points per game and 570 yards per contest. Milton is an under the radar prospect with 20 TD’s so far (15 passing and 5 on the ground). Memphis is good but a huge step up in class with a small number. Knights too much fire power. Take UCF.

Mono:  West Virginia -6.5 over Iowa State

West Virginia offense is firing on all cylinders. Don’t think the Cyclones can keep up with Will Grier.  Grier puts up big numbers in a double-digit win.  This game features strength vs strength. The West Virginia offense carries the day vs the strength of Iowa State defense.  West Virginia has a bye on deck so they come out with a solid performance. Take the Mountaineers.

Slick: Ravens -2.5 over Titans

As you saw last week the Titans struggle on offense. They don’t play well against good defenses.  The Bills defense is good, but the Ravens defense is better. The Ravens have a top 5 defense. The Ravens will do enough offensively to cover an even game on the road. Take the Ravens.

Mr. Brutal: Northwestern -4 over Nebraska

Northwestern coming off a big 10 point win over Michigan State.  The Wildcats could win the Western division of the Big 10.  They are the better team on paper in every way.  Scott Frost’s team is struggling.  Frost has said “It’s going to get worse before it gets better.” Nebraska is the least talented team in the Big 10.  Fitzgerald is a great coach for the Wildcats.  He gets the most out of his talent.  Thorson is a typical solid QB for Northwestern. Wildcats win this while giving up 4.

Bob Gaughan: Atlanta -3 over Tampa Bay

The Falcons might be the best 1-4 team in the NFL.  Atlanta has played very good competition.  Tampa Bay has Jameis Winston taking over at QB.  Hard to imagine Winston doing better than Ryan Fitzpatrick.  Tampa Bay’s defense is averaging giving up over 30 points a game. Falcons at home in a must win for them and I only have to give up a field goal.  I’ll take it!
