Mr. Over/Under: Arizona -2 over New England
One of the things I like to look for in the NFL are Teams from the west having to travel east and play a 1pm game, which is 10am out west. There are four such games this week, culminating with Seattle at Phily on Monday night. Except for the Chargers at Buffalo, all the western teams traveling east have better records and are favored over their eastern opponent. Even though the Cardinals have to travel the furthest, they won’t have to worry about the weather, as the forecast, as of this writing, is calling for sun and 50’s. Arizona has averaged 10 points more per game than New England. With the Cardinals giving less than a field goal, I like Arizona.
Man in Stripes: Bills-Chargers Over 52.5
It should be a wild one this Sunday with two explosive offenses and dynamic QB’s going after it. First it’s supposed to be a balmy day in Buffalo on Sunday so weather should help the offenses. The Chargers have gone over seven times in their last seven games, yes that’s 7-0. The Bills are 7-2-1 over their last 10 with games going over. These teams are combined 14-5-1 on the over this year. The Chargers play wild fourth quarters this year. They blow fourth quarter leads but points are a plenty. Justin Herbert is the odds on favorite to win the rookie of the year. Herbert has solid weapons to throw to in Keenan Allen and Hunter Henry. Josh Allen has snuck back into the MVP talk. He maybe a long shot but he’s back in the conversation. The Bills skill players of Cole Beasley, John Brown and Stefon Diggs should be able to light up the scoreboard. I see both teams getting into the 30’s in this one.
Mono: Oklahoma State -10.5 over Texas Tech
The Cowboys are coming off of a terrible showing in the Bedlam battle against the Sooners. Spencer Sanders getting shaken up early played a big part as they couldn’t overcome a 21-0 deficit. With that being said Texas Tech is not very good team this year. This is a good bounce back spot for the Cowboys, who still have Big 12 championship aspirations. Expect the solid Cowboys defense to shutdown the Tech offense. Chubba Hubbard will have his biggest game of the year. State wins 27-10.
Brutal: Oregon State +14 over Oregon
The game known as the Civil War is always a battle. Oregon State is playing better this year; they beat Cal last week and played Washington State and Washington tough. Oregon State has a great running game with stud back Jermar Jefferson. Oregon didn’t impress me last week against UCLA. They could have lost at home to an inferior opponent. This is just too many points for a home team in a rivalry game.
Bob Gaughan: Giants -6 over Cincinnati
The Giants are an under-rated team. At this point I feel they are the best team in a horrible NFC East. The Giants defense is much improved from a year ago. The offense should be able to move the ball against a bad Bengals defense. The Bengals are going to miss Joe Burrow. Burrow has been awesome this year. Burrow was well on his way to win Rookie of the Year. Ryan Finley is no Joe Burrow. The Giants come in off of the bye week so they are well rested. The Giants have covered their last eight road games. I’ll take the Giants giving under a touchdown.
