Weekly Record 0-1-1, Overall Record 4-8

MR. Over/Under: Miami -3

This week Mr. Over/Under will become Mr. East/West. There is a lot of truth about the difficulties west coast teams have when they have to travel over 2500-miles to play an east coast team at 1pm our time, which is 10am their time.

This week the Future Las Vegas Raiders not only have to fly from the west coast to the southeast coast to play a 1pm game, but they’ll also have have to put up with the oppressive heat. YUCK!

The Raiders Defense is suspect and Miami seems to have a decent running game. Will the Dolphins make the Raiders wear black Jerseys in that heat?

Watching Miami run the ball down the Raiders throat in that heat, will probably cause Coach Gruden to wish he was back in the booth.

Personally, I thought he was one of the poorest analysts in MNF history. So take Miami –3.

Man in Stripes: Navy – 6.5 over SMU

One good team vs one AWFUL team. Navy is 5-0, 5-0 ATS vs SMU the last five years. Navy has the number 2 rushing in country. Navy will run the ball down the Mustangs throat. As for SMU they are 1-6 ATS in the last 7. They have been outscored 133-55 in the first three games. With the 11am kick-off it will be family and friends only in Dallas.  The Midshipmen win this game by three TD’s.

Mono: Texas Tech +14.5 over Oklahoma State

Don’t think that will win outright but I do like their chances to keep this one close. Oklahoma State defense is strong, but starting in conference play I see a close game. Texas Tech goes stride for stride with the Cowboys.

Slick: Atlanta/New Orleans Over 53

I think both offenses will battle this week.  The Saints offense are coming off a poor performance last week against the Browns. The Saints secondary is bad and the Falcons defense is beat up.

Mr. Brutal: Winnipeg Blue Bombers -10 over Montreal

Johnny Manziel is back at quarterback for Montreal. The locker room is split because of Manziel starting. He didn’t show up to several practices after having a concussion and the flu.  The veterans on Montreal are not happy with him.  Winnipeg needs to win.  Winnipeg has the second best offense in the CFL.  Winnipeg has the loudest stadium in the CFL built like Husky Stadium in Seattle. Montreal has the worst offense and worst defense in the CFL.

Bob Gaughan: Clemson -14.5 over Georgia Tech

The reason I like this one is because Clemson has a great defensive line.  Clemson has had Georgia Tech’s number the last three years.  Tech runs on everyone except Clemson.  The Tigers have held Georgia Tech to an average of 125 yards rushing the last three years.

Dabo Sweeney quoted this week: “Georgia Tech’s offense doesn’t freak us out anymore.”
