Buffalo Sports Page Athlete of the Week Award

Buffalo Sports Page is teaming up with Southtowns Trophy to create the BSP Athlete Of The Week Award. The Award will recognize the efforts and achievements of young athletes throughout WNY with recognition on buffalosportspage.com and a unique award from Southtowns Trophy. The award will be announced every Saturday on April 28th during the Buffalo Sports Page radio show on WECK 1230 AM (Saturdays 10-noon). Details on criteria for eligibility and how to apply are as follows:

Eligibility: Any amateur athlete in WNY ages 8-18 (Senior in High School)

Nomination: Athletes may be nominated by a relative, coach, teacher, or teammate. Athletes may not nominate his or herself.

Submission: Athlete nominations will on be accepted via email to sylvesterpeckmedia@gmail.com

Submission must include: Name, age, school or team, sport, coach, picture (if available), and
reason for nomination (ie great performance, sportsmanship)

All submission must be emailed by Thursday at noon to sylvesterpeckmedia@gmail.com

Award: The BSP Athlete of the Week Presented by Southtowns Trophy will be announced each week on the Buffalo Sports Page Radio. An announcement on the BSP website will also be posted, and the person submitting the nomination will also be notified. The winner will be required to pick up their award at Southtowns Trophy, 6165 W, Quaker Rd, Orchard Park NY.

Paul Peck

Paul Peck is sports broadcaster with over 25 years experience in TV and Radio. He served as sports anchor, reporter, and producer at WIVB for 24 years. In that role, he covered all four Buffalo Bills Super Bowls, the Buffalo Sabres in the Stanley Cup Finals, the NCAA Basketball Tournament and the Daytona 500. He has been the Voice of the UB Bulls Football for 17 seasons, in addition to host of Bulls Athletics TV & Radio shows. Peck also served as the sideline reporter for the Buffalo Bills Football Network, host of the bowling show "Beat The Champ" and announces college basketball for ESPN 3 and Time Warner Cable Sports Channel. He has also been the Master of Ceremonies for the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame, one of the largest sports banquets in WNY.

Paul is also involved in the local business community, having been a financial advisor at AXA Advisors, and is currently the Vice President of Sports Development at VSP Graphics Group.
