Rafael Lantigua, a 2023 Buffalo Bisons utility player, along with OF Steward Berroa and C Max McDowell all inked deals, that include invitations to Major League Spring Training.

Lantigua led the Herd in a number of offensive categories in 2023. Among them were hits (142), extra-base hits(52) and RBI’s (85). He was fourth-best in the International League in on-base percentage at .452, eighth in Triple-A. Lantigua played eight different positions in 2023, appearing in 129 games last year.

Lantigua, still 25-ears of age, is a native of the Dominican Republic, was named the team’s Joe De Sa Most Inspirational Player, was also the ‘Fremo” Vallone Community Service Award for his work on and off the field in WNY.

Berroa joined the Bisons last August and played in 22 games, most notable accomplishment was his three-hit game against Norfolk at seasons end.

McDowell came to the Herd last September from the Philadelphia Phillies. He made his MiLP debut back in 2021 with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Notable: Sportsnet announced Wednesday they would not renew Ben Wagner’s contract. Wagner had been the play-by-play man for Blue Jays radio for the past six seasons.
